Advice for Practicing Artists:
These workshops have been designed to help artists develop their practice. Nuts and Bolts discusses the nitty gritty of being an artist, giving you the tools to move your career forward, whether it be writing an artists statement and CV, social networking and blogs, applying for commissions, entering open competitions, considering the importance of titles and working in collaboration or meeting professionals in your fields.
Workshops will also include discussions on maintaining one’s practice while earning a living, tips on marketing, publicity and art-writing and working in the public realm.
Talks shall be given will by a range of artists, arts practitioners, curators, art critics, arts professionals and collectors from a wide range of organisations such as a-n and Artquest.
Chaired by Core Gallery manager Rosalind Davis, a graduate from the RCA and Chelsea College of Art. Rosalind is mixed media artist who has exhibited internationally and has work in both private and public collections award-winning blogger, writer, lecturer at the University of the Arts and member of the AIR Council
The series of art talks have been structured to give you a coherent, rounded understanding of the practicalities of surviving in the art world and to increase your confidence and visibility overall as an artist.
